BELLEVUE, Wash. – Washington Technology University adds a new faculty member to its growing academic ranks. Dr. Xiaojuan Cai comes to Washington Technology University from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. Dr. Cai brings extensive teaching and research experience to the university and provides teaching leadership in the Information Security Bachelor program. As a lecturer at her previous institution, Dr. Cai received an “Excellent Young Faculty” award and “New Teaching Star” award. Dr. Cai will begin teaching this winter in the Information Security program at the Bellevue, Washington campus.
“Dr. Cai will add significant analytical capabilities to our teaching team as well as provide a solid instructional foundation for our future computer and technology-based academic programs” said Dr. David Hendrickson.
Xiaojuan Cai has PhD in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong university, ranked #5 in China (Universities in China 2017 US News and World Report). Dr. Cai’s research is focused on theoretical computer science as it relates to mathematical descriptions of functional computational abstractions including lambda and pie calculus. Prior to WTU, Dr. Cai served 7 years as a post doctorate researcher and lecturer at Shanghai Jiao Tong university in Shanghai, China.
