Description: In this course students learn the tools used in econometrics to forecast sales, expenditures, and macroeconomic variables such as GDP, interest rates, inflation, and the stock market. Using real-world projects, students build and apply forecasting models to actual data concerning sales, inventories, income, earnings per share, and other variables widely encountered in business. A special focus on practical issues related to data acquisition, data analysis, and presentation to management in both oral and written forms, are emphasized. Problems of trend and seasonal forecasting in marketing, production, and finance are also covered.
